TEACHING PRACTICE: PHASE II WEEK 6

WEEK 6 reaching to the end of journey.

5 August 2024, I had class during the third period, where I conducted a problem-solving session on various equation problems. By today, I was able to complete my 30 lesson plans. I gave the students questions and asked them to solve them independently. After giving them some time, I randomly called on students to solve the problems. I felt so happy that they could frame equations on their own. I also called one student to solve an equation on the board. Some students were inattentive, so I changed their seats. I never expected that I would be able to join the teaching practice and complete 30 lesson plans. It’s God’s grace and the prayers of my beloved parents that made this possible. I feel that I’ve achieved a milestone in my life. The fourth period was taken by my concerned teacher in that class.

6 August 2024, I didn’t have any scheduled periods according to my timetable. I came to school and took a substitution during the third period in 6A, which is on the lower floor. I engaged with the students in some conversations. I talked to them about socially relevant issues and inquired about their backgrounds. Then, some students sang beautiful songs for me. Overall, it was a memorable experience, and I felt so happy.

7 August 2024, the school held an assembly to mark the tragic remembrance of the landslides that affected Wayanad. Within a single day, the people of Mundakai lost their homes, families, relatives, and everything. In the second period, I conducted an achievement test in class 8I. One of the training teachers was there to assist me, as I couldn't move around the class easily. I distributed the question papers and provided all the necessary instructions for the exam. When the bell rang, I collected the answer sheets.
