Image
THE END OF MY JOURNEY IN MANACAUD SCHOOL. 8 August 2024, I had class during the 4th period. I returned the answer sheets from the achievement test and discussed the answers with the students, clearing their doubts. I also showcased my innovative teaching aid, which excited the students and elicited a positive response. I divided the class into two groups, awarding points to the group that correctly framed the equations. We played eight rounds of the game, and I gave small gifts to all group members, including the winning group. After signing the attendance, I went home. 9 August 2024 was the last day of my teaching practice. I can hardly believe it's real. After the accident and surgery, with months of bed rest, I was unsure if I could complete this course. However, through willpower, perseverance, my parents' prayers, friends' support, and guidance from my teachers, I made it a reality. In the first period, I did not teach but asked the students for feedback on my teachi...

WEEK 6 reaching to the end of journey. 5 August 2024, I had class during the third period, where I conducted a problem-solving session on various equation problems. By today, I was able to complete my 30 lesson plans. I gave the students questions and asked them to solve them independently. After giving them some time, I randomly called on students to solve the problems. I felt so happy that they could frame equations on their own. I also called one student to solve an equation on the board. Some students were inattentive, so I changed their seats. I never expected that I would be able to join the teaching practice and complete 30 lesson plans. It’s God’s grace and the prayers of my beloved parents that made this possible. I feel that I’ve achieved a milestone in my life. The fourth period was taken by my concerned teacher in that class.  6 August 2024, I didn’t have any scheduled periods according to my timetable. I came to school and took a substitution during the third period in...

WEEK 5 AND THE JOURNEY CONTINUES... 1 August 2024, I had class during the 4th period, where I conducted a problem-solving session on various equation problems. The students were able to frame the equations without my assistance. They successfully identified and recalled the steps in solving equations and showed interest in the learning process. However, they were a bit distracted since it was the 4th period, and some students left for volleyball selection. Despite this, I was able to complete my lesson plan within the stipulated time. I also checked the previous day's follow-up activity.  2 August 2024, I had class during the third period, where I conducted a problem-solving session on various equation problems. The students initially found it difficult to frame the equations, so I provided guidance. I called on each student to solve the equations, and they were able to identify and recall the steps involved. They developed both an interest in and a skill for solving problems. As w...

WEEK 5 AND THE JOURNEY 29 July 2024, according to the scheduled timetable, I had two periods in 8G. In the third period, I conducted a problem-solving class on the topic of the algebraic method. I provided a challenging problem, but once the students understood the method to solve it, they found it easier to solve. They responded well to my questions and recalled the steps for solving algebraic problems. I also provided a follow-up activity. In the fourth period, I conducted an activity-based class on different types of equation problems. The main event of the day was the arts club competition. The trainee teachers were tasked with decorating the home theatre room for the event, which was part of the Van Gogh Day celebrations.  30 July 2024, I didn’t have any classes according to the timetable. However, my fellow trainee teachers arranged a substitution period for me in 8G during the fourth hour. I conducted a problem-solving class on various equation problems. The students ...

WEEK 3 AND SECOND PART OF JOURNEY 25 July 2024, I had class during the 3rd and 4th periods in 8G. I used the inquiry training model to teach the topic of algebraic methods. The students were initially not interested in this type of learning. I gave clear instructions for the teaching model, but some students asked irrelevant questions. Despite the challenges, I managed to reach the generalization. It was difficult to execute the lesson plan. During the 4th period, I conducted a problem-solving session on algebraic methods. The students could solve the problems, but I also helped them frame equations. I explained one or two questions to them, and later on, they were able to solve the problems independently. They then showed interest in solving the problems. 26 July 2024, I had class during the 1st and 2nd periods. Our teacher from the college came to observe my class. I conducted a problem-solving session on the topic of algebraic methods. The students were able to explain the questions...

WEEK 4 AND MY JOURNEY   22 July 2024, I had class during the 3rd and 4th periods. During the 3rd period, I conducted a problem-solving class on the topic of addition and subtraction. I verified the answers from the previous day's follow-up activity and provided some more questions. The students were able to solve the questions using their logic. For some students, I explained the concepts with daily life examples. I was able to complete the lesson plan within the time period. In the 4th period, I conducted an activity-oriented class on the topic of multiplication and division, and I was able to help them arrive at the generalization easily. I completed the lesson plan early, so I provided some extra questions for solving. After the class, I signed the attendance sheet and went home. 23 July 2024, I had class during the first and second periods in 8G. During the first period, I conducted an activity-based class on the topic of the method of inversion. The class was divided into grou...
